What is post-void dribbling?
Post-void dribbling is when a few drops of urine leak into underwear or outside after a person thinks they have finished urinating. It is common in men and is often related to urine remaining in the urethra.
Why might it occur?
Prostate enlargement, narrowing of the urethra, weakness of pelvic floor muscles, incomplete bladder emptying, or structural problems in the urinary tract can cause this symptom.
When should it be taken seriously?
If the dribbling becomes persistent, if there is weakening of urine flow, if burning during urination accompanies it, or if the person feels they cannot completely empty their bladder, evaluation is recommended.

Frequently asked questions
Is post-void dribbling normal?
It can be seen occasionally, but if it recurs frequently or affects quality of life, the underlying causes need to be investigated.
Do pelvic floor exercises help?
In some individuals, strengthening pelvic floor muscles can be beneficial. However, urological causes should be evaluated first.
